CAMPI-TMA vehicle sales in the Philippines down 10.4% YoY in March to 36,104 units; Q1 2026 totals 105,642 units
Reported on April 21, 2026, the latest data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and the Truck Manufacturers Association showed that new motor vehicle sales in the Philippines in March 2026 declined by 10.4% YoY to 36,104 units. Passenger car volumes contracted by 18.0% to 6,926 units, while commercial vehicle sales declined by 8.4% to 29,178 units. Sales of electrified vehicles, however, expanded sharply during the month, climbing around 224% YoY to 6,148 units, comprising 3,667 HEVs, 1,787 BEVs, and 694 PHEVs.
For the January–March 2026 period, combined CAMPI-TMA sales reached 105,642 units, representing a 9.8% YoY decrease. Passenger car sales fell 17.2% to 20,151 units, while commercial vehicle volumes dropped 7.8% to 85,491 units. In contrast, electrified vehicle demand continued to strengthen, with total sales rising around 36% YoY to 11,800 units, including 8,261 HEVs, 2,289 BEVs, and 1,250 PHEVs (excluding non-CAMPI members such as BYD).
CAMPI linked the sustained growth in electrified vehicle uptake to increasing consumer familiarity with such technologies, as well as a combination of domestic factors, such as the declaration of a national energy emergency in March, and external pressures, including elevated fuel costs driven by Middle East geopolitical tensions. The association added that higher oil prices are expected to shape both driving habits and purchasing decisions, reinforcing interest in more fuel-efficient and smaller-displacement vehicles.
In terms of market share, Toyota accounted for 49.15%, followed by Mitsubishi Motors at 19.5%, Suzuki at 4.69%, Nissan at 4.39%, and Honda Cars at 3.76%.
Notes: Small differences were found when comparing previously reported Jan–Feb figures with the latest Q1 (Jan–Mar) report, particularly in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and electrified vehicle segments (HEV and BEV).

CAMPI-TMA vehicle sales in Philippines fall 8.5% YoY to 35,842 units in February 2026
Reported on March 19, 2026, the latest data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that new motor vehicle sales in the Philippines from January to February 2026 fell 9.4% YoY to 69,538 units. Passenger car sales declined by 16.7% YoY to 13,225 units, while commercial vehicle sales dropped by 7.5% to 56,313 units.
Electrified vehicle sales among CAMPI-TMA members surged by 67% YoY to 5,701 units, including 4,551 HEVs, 594 BEVs, and 556 PHEVs.
For February 2026 alone, vehicle sales declined by 8.5% YoY to 35,842 units. Passenger car sales in February fell by 13.6% to 7,047 units, while commercial vehicle sales slipped by 7.1% to 28,795 units. Electrified vehicle sales in the month jumped by 71% YoY to 3,098 units, consisting of 2,479 HEVs, 340 BEVs, and 279 PHEVs.
CAMPI attributed the slowdown partly to seasonal factors, including leaner supply following strong demand in December. The group also noted that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are creating uncertainty, influencing consumer behavior and vehicle usage patterns. To address shifting demand, CAMPI members are expanding their lineups with more energy-efficient and electrified vehicle options.
By brand share, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. led the market with a 49.33% share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. at 20.65% and Suzuki Philippines Inc. with 4.68%.
