Move 2018 was India's ever first Global Mobility Summit organized by NITI Aayog (The National Institution for Transforming India) at the Vigyan Bhawan convention center in New Delhi on September 7 and 8. Over 2,500 participants from across the world, including leaders of the government, industry, research organizations, academia, think tanks and civil society attended this event.
The summit was set to deliberate on the five themes of electrification, alternative fuels, reinventing public transport, goods transport and logistics through data analytics.
The Summit was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India. An exhibition of electric vehicles was also conducted during the event, with participation by Tata Motors, Nissan, Hyundai, Suzuki, ABB, Bajaj, Mahindra and Sun Mobility. The core summit consisted of focused high-level panel discussions around both the foundational and cutting-edge aspects of mobility.
In the conference and panel discussions, Government and Industry representatives discussed the future of mobility in India. The focus was on alternative fuels, last mile connectivity, multi-mode transport, urban planning and smart commutation systems. The summit also aimed to establish the base for a transport system which is safe, clean, shared and connected.
