According to statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), production of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in August 2020 increased 19.5% year-over-year (y/y) to 105 thousand units and sales of NEVs rose 27.0% y/y to 109 thousand units, marking an increase for the second consecutive month. From January to August 2020, production and sales of New Energy Vehicles were 596 thousand units and 590 thousand units, respectively, of which NEV passenger car production and sales were 544 thousand and 537 thousand units, NEV commercial vehicle production and sales were 52 thousand and 53 thousand units respectively.
