Summary

The Japan Mobility Show 2025, organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA) was held at Tokyo Big Sight (open to the public from October 31 to November 9, 2025). At a press briefing for commercial vehicle manufacturers, all companies strongly called for "building allies," as innovation in the transportation business and the replacement of oil as an energy source cannot be achieved by OEMs on their own. The OEMs also proposed several new models and new technologies, such as hydrogen fuel cell (FC) vehicles, highlighting their "multi-pathway" approach to flexibly meet the needs of their "partners.”

This report focuses on the strategy presentations given by the top executives of commercial vehicle OEMs at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, a summary of the vehicles on display, and detailed reporting on the highlighted technologies.

All the commercial vehicle OEMs exhibited their products in East Halls 4 to 6, but important new models were also on display in the thematic zones outside the corporate booths. The photo shows West Hall 2, where the thematic zones were concentrated The Isuzu Erga FCV was one of the key models unveiled for the first time in the thematic zone. A joint press release with Toyota states that production will begin in FY2026.
