Shenzhen Denza New Energy Automotive Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of BYD, held the "2024 Denza Tech Day" and the pre-order sales launch event of the Denza Z9GT in August 2024, and released the intelligent control technology platform "e3."
The technical architecture of Denza, which BYD is positioning as a premium NEV brand, aims to be safe, maneuverable, comfortable and intelligent. The e3 intelligent control technology platform consists of three core architectures: a powertrain compatible with PHEVs and BEVs; a control architecture including three-motor independent drive and rear-wheel dual motor steering technology; and an intelligent architecture focused on the integration of intelligence and electricity. Despite being a D-segment vehicle, the e3 achieves outstanding functionality, including a minimum turning radius of 4.62m and a maximum rear wheel steering angle of ±10 degrees.
The research and development of the e3 took more than five years, involved more than 6,000 R&D personnel, and cost CNY 5 billion. In addition, rigorous testing has been conducted for a cumulative total of over 2.3 million kilometers. The Denza Z9 and Z9GT are the first models to be equipped with the e3 intelligent control technology platform.
