ITS World Congress 2022 exhibition entrance

The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress 2022 took place in Los Angeles, California, U.S. from September 18 through September 22, 2022. The event returned to Los Angeles after the original exhibition scheduled to take place in 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 6,000 professionals from 64 countries attended the exhibition, which featured over 300 exhibitors and hosted 180 panel and education sessions. The ITS World Congress 2022 had a theme of “Transformation by Transportation”, which highlighted the use of advanced technologies and transportation policies to enact positive societal changes.

Due to growing concern about climate change, sustainability was a focal point several panels at the ITS World Congress 2022. One session highlighted the use of data to improve sustainability in transportation systems. Another panel emphasized sustainability solutions for cities and urban environments. A plenary session included a brief discussion on regional ITS solutions for sustainability. Finally, one session showcased specific projects to measure and improve sustainability and mobility.
