CES 2020 was held from January 7 through January 10, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. More than 290,000 square feet was dedicated towards vehicle technology, a slight decrease from the 300,000 square feet used for vehicle technology in the 2019 exhibition. Attendance figures for CES 2020 were expected to surpass 170,000.
Exhibitors at CES 2020 demonstrated a renewed emphasis on sustainable mobility and alternative powertrains. FCA presented plug-in hybrid versions of some of its most popular SUVs and crossovers, while Ford showcased the recently unveiled Mustang Mach-E. Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan all displayed a mix of currently available models and concept vehicles in their exhibits.
A number of automotive suppliers also exhibited systems for alternative powertrains or promoting sustainability. Hyundai Mobis showcased the M.Vision S urban mobility concept which can be powered by a fuel cell. Magna returned its electric powertrain configurator from the previous year, while showing an interactive augmented reality visual demonstrator for active aerodynamic systems. Bosch, Marelli, Mitsubishi Electric and Toyota Boshoku displayed components for electrified vehicles, including hybrids and battery electric models.
