Tesla's Cybertruck, launched in December 2023, enthusiastically incorporates cutting-edge technologies ahead of its competitors. Munro & Associates, Inc. (Munro), which was one of the first companies to acquire the vehicle, conducted a teardown survey of the Cybertruck. This report introduces some of the findings and provides an overview of the advanced Cybertruck technologies, such as the electric drive module, the second-generation 4680 battery cell, and the 800V charging system.

Tesla Cybertruck overview

The Cybertruck is a full-size electric pickup truck with a unique appearance due to its unpainted stainless steel body, incorporating many advanced technologies such as steer-by-wire.

Three types of power units are available: single-motor rear-wheel drive, two-motor four-wheel drive, and three-motor (two motors in the rear, one motor in the front) four-wheel drive. The top-of-the-line model introduced in this report is the Cybertruck Beast (Cyberbeast), a high-performance version with a total of 845 horsepower (hp) from the triple-motor and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The output and torque for each specification are shown in the table below. The battery capacity has not been officially announced, but is expected to be around 122kWh.
