Change in Capital Structure
-The Company announced that it will change its capital structure in September 2023. JICC-01 Limited Liability Partnership for Investment, which is under JIC Capital, will invest new capital. After the investment is made, Hitachi Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and JICC-01 will own a 40%, 40%, and 20% shareholding, respectively. The purpose is for current shareholders to have an equal footing in terms of sharing in Hitachi Astemo’s growth based on JICC’s wealth of investment history and information network.

Due to the structure of brake-by-wire, there is a delay between the pedal pressure and the actuator operating sound. This delay is unpleasant for the driver. Furthermore, the interior of an EV is quieter than an ICE, so even the smallest sounds become more noticeable. Therefore, improving quietness can be said to be a very important element in brake-by-wire.

Turning a conventional steering wheel causes the driver's body and gaze to shake far more than we would imagine. Therefore, dial operation allows the driver to drive in a stable posture. This has been confirmed in actual driving tests. It is also superior to conventional steering in terms of keeping the driver's body still. Even with dial operation, the steering feel is reproduced, allowing even first-time drivers to use it without any discomfort. Future work will involve considering the shape of the console box where the driver's elbows rest when operating the dial, and the company says it will work with OEMs to develop an ergonomic design.
