Introduction

Automobile lighting is an important component in terms of the legal safety requirements for driving on public roads as well as for their role in the aesthetics of the vehicle.

Note:

  • AHB (Automatic High Beam): System for high-beam driving. Automatically switches between high and low beams. The system automatically controls the high and low beams of the headlamps based on the position of vehicles in front, such as an oncoming or preceding vehicles. Allows early detection of pedestrians and other vehicles at night. Can also be used with halogen headlights. Also called HBC (High Beam Control).
  • ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam, automatic anti-glare front lighting): System for high-beam driving. This can be achieved with LED headlights. ADB is a headlamp system that uses a camera to detect preceding and oncoming vehicles, shades only the areas where these are, and illuminates other areas with high beams.
  • AFS (Adaptive Front Lighting System, variable parallel optical axis system): A preventive safety system in which the headlamps illuminate in the direction of steering wheel turning to ensure forward visibility. This is an old and expensive system that swings the lamps from side to side by means of actuators. It was not often installed in practice, but with the recent shift to LED headlights, the system has become simpler and more widespread. There are methods such as placing LEDs in different orientations and turning on the necessary LEDs according to the direction of travel.
