Thermal Management of BEV Batteries (Europe, U.S. and China Markets) Lithium-Ion Battery (Japan, Europe, North America and Korea)
Introduction
In 2024, the production and sales of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in the Chinese market increased year-over year (y/y), and the production capacity of drive batteries also expanded. Unlike previous years, the supply of batteries far exceeded device demand, sending lithium carbonate prices to their lowest levels. At the same time, new types of drive batteries with new materials and shapes are being introduced to market one after another, reflecting the advances made in drive battery technology over the past year.
Chapter 1 of this report provides an overview of the Chinese market and part of the global market for new energy drive batteries; Chapter 2 summarizes the technological development of drive batteries; and Chapters 3 through 5 provide a detailed description of the current status of major battery manufacturers.
Unless otherwise noted, all content in this report refers to the Chinese market.
