The Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) 2025 Conference, organized by the German event provider we.CONECT Global Leaders, took place in Berlin from November 30 to December 2, 2025. As part of the Smart Mobility event series, the conference was co-located with sec.SDV, a dedicated event focusing on cybersecurity for software-defined vehicles.

Bringing together approximately 310 industry experts from automotive development, software engineering, and automotive software security, the conference centered on the challenges, strategies, and innovations shaping the future of SDVs.

The event kicked off on Sunday evening with an informal Ice Breaker Session, offering participants a relaxed networking opportunity over drinks and snacks. The main program featured 18 presentations, a panel discussion on the first day, interactive workshops, and an exhibition area with 16 booths showcasing cutting-edge solutions.

Conference sessions were organized into five thematic tracks:

  • Software-Centric Architecture (SW R&D) – Exploring modular, scalable architectures and software-first design principles to accelerate SDV development.
  • Standards & Software Compliance – Addressing regulatory frameworks, safety, and interoperability while fostering innovation.
  • SOTA, Connectivity & Data Management – Highlighting secure over-the-air updates, connectivity optimization, and real-time data utilization for enhanced services and user experience.
  • Embedded Systems – Focusing on performance, reliability, and security in resource-constrained environments for safe and efficient vehicle operation.
  • Cloud, Virtualization & SaaS – Examining cloud integration, virtualization, and SaaS solutions to enable flexible, data-driven SDV ecosystems.

This report provides an overview of selected presentations and offers insights from the panel discussion on the future of autonomous mobility, emphasizing challenges and breakthroughs in software development.

Looking ahead, next year’s edition will be part of a larger combined event, co-located with sec.SDV – Cybersecurity for Software-Defined Vehicles 2026, Car.HMI Europe 2026, and InCabin.Sensing Europe 2026. The joint event is scheduled to take place in Berlin from June 21 to 23, 2026.
