Summary
The “Materials Regulations and Sustainability Event (MRSE) 2025”, organized by CLEPA (the European Association of Automotive Suppliers), is an annual event dedicated to sharing and discussing the latest developments in sustainability and material regulations within the European automotive industry. The 17th edition of the event was held in Frankfurt, Germany, from June 25 to 26, 2025, bringing together more than 250 industry stakeholders from around the world.
The event began with keynote speeches in the plenary session, followed by two days of expert sessions covering a wide range of topics, including material regulations, technological challenges in recycling, responsible supply chain management, and the promotion of a circular economy. In the keynote address, CLEPA Secretary General Benjamin Krieger emphasized that “automotive suppliers are key players in supporting Europe’s sustainability strategy through the development of clean technologies.” He also referred to the EU’s adoption of the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Regulation, calling for support for vehicle remanufacturing and comprehensive recycling targets.
