The 2024 World Automotive Chip Innovation Conference (WACIC), organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, on December 5-6, 2024. The conference included one exclusive Executive Summit, one Main Theme Forum, and three Professional Forums, where participants exchanged views on the development of the automotive semiconductor ecosystem, market environment analysis, competition and alliances, technology innovation, and more.
This report introduces some of the content of the presentations that were made at the Main Theme Forum, Professional Forum 1: "Forum on Innovation and Development of Automotive Electric Drive Systems and Power Semiconductors," and Professional Forum 2: "Forum on the Integration of Automotive Cockpits and Driving and the Application and Development of the Semiconductor Ecosystem”. These include the current situation and development needs of the automotive semiconductor industry (FAW), development trends of electric drive systems and power semiconductors (Dongfeng), and development trends of the semiconductor ecosystem for intelligent vehicles (Chery).
