Summary

IAA Transportation 2024 venue

The IAA Transportation 2024, organized by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), was held at the Deutsche Messe AG venue in Hanover from September, 17 to 22, 2024. On September 16, the exhibition was exclusively open to the press.

The event is held biennially and is a reference in the automotive industry, as a platform focused on bus and commercial vehicles manufactures, body and trailer builders, micro-mobility companies, suppliers in the sector, services providers, startups, and tech companies. The IAA Transportation provides a fitting environment for companies to discuss new technologies and practices in the industry, to promote partnerships and collaborations, and above all, to showcase the advancements and highlights of the attending companies.

In 2024, the IAA Transportation emphasized the evolution of the commercial vehicle sector towards climate-neutral mobility, featuring technologies and solutions currently in use or set to be adopted in the near future. With over 145 world and European premieres presented by OEMs, suppliers and tech companies, along over 80 press conferences, the IAA Transportation is an event that shapes the road of the transportation and mobility industry.

This year’s IAA Transportation attracted approximately 1,700 exhibitors hailing from 41 countries, resulting in an increase of 21% compared to the last edition. Another outstanding fact is that the number of visitors increased around 10% in comparison to the event in 2022 to nearly 145,000 people.
