This report covers the exhibitions of Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019.

Nissan exhibited two EV concept models, the Nissan Ariya Concept, a compact EV, and the Nissan IMk, a kei-car (<660cc) sized EV (shown on the right in the photo). Both models are concept cars that suggest Nissan's all-new design direction for the EV era. Also, on display were the Skyline equipped with ProPilot 2.0 (launched in Japan in September) and the Nissan Leaf e+ equipped with a 62 kWh lithium-ion battery, having a range of 458km (WLTC mode).

Honda exhibited the Fit and the Accord models scheduled to be launched in Japan in February 2020. These models will be equipped with the Honda i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) two-motor hybrid system centered on motor drive, and have been named by Honda as the “e:HEV”. The "Honda e" electric vehicle, which is scheduled to be launched in Japan during 2020 was also exhibited.

Mitsubishi Motors unveiled the world's first buggy-type electric (PHEV) SUV concept car, the "Mi-Tech concept vehicle and the Super Height K-Wagon concept vehicle.
Mitsubishi celebrated the Japan premiere of the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer mid-size electric (PHEV) SUV concept car that debuted at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2019.
Mitsubishi Motors said that for electric vehicles, it will focus on PHEV, in which it has leading-edge technology.
