The CES Asia 2019 was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from June 11-13 2019. Approximately 550 companies participated in the expo, showcasing their latest in-vehicle entertainment systems, 5G communications, AI products and innovative technologies. Of the six exhibition halls, two were dedicated to automotive-related exhibitions. OEMs such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, SAIC Motor, and Great Wall Motor as well as IT companies and suppliers like Baidu, Hyundai Mobis, and Inceptio Technology assembled here to exhibit their latest achievements. This report will introduce the content of these companies’ automotive-related exhibitions.

With autonomous driving, connectivity, and AI technology currently developing at such a rapid pace, how will the traditional automotive industry embrace this one-in-a-century opportunity in which the fate of the industry resides? It was understood from the CES Asia 2019 show that the conventional automotive industry is already fusing with emerging industries such as AI, and that these same emerging industries are becoming the driving force in the automotive industry. For example, automobile cockpits are becoming more multifunctional in addition to providing a place of entertainment, making human machine interface (HMI) a hot topic of discussion. L3/L4 autonomous driving is already within reach. With the expansion of communication technology such as 5G, the automotive industry will see changes at unimaginable speeds.
