Summary

The theme of the Thailand International Motor Expo 2018 (period: November 29 to December 10, 2018; Venue: Bangkok, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani) was “Enjoy Driving! Before Driverless Era”, with 36 automakers from nine countries, as well as 23 motorcycle manufacturers from seven countries participating in the show.

Nissan announced it would release the Leaf EV in the Thai market. SAIC Motor unveiled its MG brand’s E-Motion EV, and Hyundai an EV variant of its Kona SUV. Additionally, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz exhibited EV concept vehicles, such as the Mission E and EQA, respectively.

As for mass-market vehicles, automakers exhibited new models, with Toyota and Honda exhibiting mid-size sedans such as the Camry and Accord, and Mitsubishi exhibiting its Triton pickup truck. Subaru also exhibited its Forester, assembled in Thailand. Furthermore, GM and Ford exhibited a wide range of pickup trucks and SUV variant models.
