This report presents Toyota and Nissan's exhibits during the 27th Automotive Engineering Exposition 2018 Yokohama (sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc., held at the PACIFICO Yokohama, Period: May 23 to 25, 2018)
Toyota exhibited a diorama of the future of hydrogen society and the cutaway model of the FCV MIRAI. Toyota is advancing plans to expand the annual sales volume of the FCV from the current 3,000 units to 30,000 units around 2020, and into FC bus, FC forklifts, and FC heavy duty trucks.
Toyota is intensively introducing revolutionary powertrains through TNGA, and this time at the exhibition showcased the Inline 4-cylinder 2.0L Direct-Injection engine, the V6 3.5L Direct-Injection engine, and the all-new Direct Shift-CVT.
Nissan showcased the Nissan LEAF, the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, and a cutaway model of the Li-Ion battery pack with the upgraded 40kWh capacity.
The electrified powertrain e-Power that will be fitted on the Note e-Power and Serena e-Power models was also exhibited.
Nissan also introduced the world's first mass-produced variable compression ratio turbo engine technology, the VC Turbo.
