Measurement
of Brake and
Tire Particle
Emissions on a
Test Bench
In modern vehicles, the braking system is the dominant source of particulate matter emissions. For that reason, many regions worldwide want to limit non-exhaust emissions of particles. In the EU, the future Euro 7 standard will set limits for the brake particle emissions of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle mass of up to 3.5 t. Also being discussed are limits for tire wear particulates and brake and tire particles for heavy commercial vehicles.
